Cadillac's approach to electrification is quite different from that of other manufacturers. The brand hasn't just transitioned to electric power; it has built a more sophisticated and refined identity around this technology. As a result, Cadillac's EVs fully exploit the strengths of electric propulsion to enhance driving experience and ride comfort. The LYRIQ isn't just an electric Cadillac—it's an elevated vision of the brand's future, and that's what fascinates me about this model.
There are no major updates for the 2025 LYRIQ, but Cadillac has just announced the arrival of a high-performance V version for the 2026 model year, which promises to be very exciting.
Cadillac's luxury SUV lineup includes six different trims, all available in rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). Notably, the TECH trim has been discontinued, making the Luxury 1 trim the new entry-level option. Pricing starts at $70,833 for RWD, while opting for AWD raises the cost to $75,333. As a general rule, there's about a $4,000 price difference between the RWD and AWD versions of each trim.
The Luxury 2 and 3 trims start at $77,333 and $81,333, respectively. Interestingly, the Sport 1, 2, and 3 trims follow the exact same pricing structure, which is something I really appreciate about Cadillac's straightforward shopping experience.
The luxury EV segment has become increasingly diverse in recent years. Fortunately, the Cadillac LYRIQ offers a unique and compelling formula. This premium American SUV truly stands out in terms of comfort and overall driving experience.
I have to admit, I'm not entirely sold on the proportions and rear-end design of the Cadillac LYRIQ. However, the rest of the vehicle is quite elegant and visually intriguing. Cadillac's attention to lighting and detail really sets this SUV apart from the competition.
The interior of the LYRIQ is absolutely stunning. The first thing that grabs your attention is the massive 33-inch digital dashboard, which integrates both the instrument cluster and the infotainment system. Then, you're captivated by the seat comfort and high-quality materials throughout the cabin. Finally, the exceptional quietness and serene driving experience truly set this SUV apart.
The Cadillac LYRIQ is also packed with cutting-edge technology. Its infotainment system is incredibly intuitive and easy to use. However, the standout feature is undoubtedly Super Cruise, one of the best semi-autonomous driving systems on the market today.
The LYRIQ offers two powertrain options:
The RWD version features a single electric motor producing 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. It's paired with a 102 kWh battery pack, allowing for an estimated range of 524 km (326 miles) on a full charge.
The AWD version comes with dual motors, boosting power to over 515 horsepower and up to 524 lb-ft of torque in Velocity Mode. However, the range drops slightly to 494 km (307 miles)—still very competitive within the segment.
✔ Ultra-luxurious and incredibly comfortable
✔ Turns heads wherever it goes
✔ Competitive pricing considering its premium features
✔ Advanced technology and an unparalleled luxury experience
The Cadillac LYRIQ is the brand's first fully electric vehicle, and it sets a new benchmark in many ways.
Cadillac has truly raised the bar with its first 100% electric vehicle.
