When will the Electric Chevy Silverado go on sale in Canada?

We cannot overstate how vital electrically powered vehicles will be to the future of the automotive industry. Chevrolet has produced some of the most impressive EVs to hit the market and one of the most affordable options, embodied by the Chevy Bolt EV. It’s easy to tell our manufacturing partner is taking electric vehicle technology seriously because it will be applying it to one of its most visible nameplates, the Silverado full-size pickup truck. Hardly a week goes by in the Budds’ Chevy Buick GMC showroom where someone doesn’t stop in to ask, ‘When will the electric Chevy Silverado go on sale in Canada?’ We don’t have an exact on-sale date just yet, but we know that Chevrolet aims to make it available for the 2023 model year.

What is Four-Wheel Steer?

Given that an electric Chevy Silverado won’t be available for sale or lease at the Budds’ Chevy Buick GMC showroom for a couple of years, the manufacturer hasn’t made a lot known about the new pickup truck platform. However, that isn’t to say we don’t know anything. Chevy’s most recent information drop announced that the Silverado EV would be available with Four-Wheel Steer and 24-inch (127-mm) wheels.

The combination of Four-Wheel Steer and its wheels will provide drivers with improved overall agility, tighter turning radius at low speeds, and better handling at higher speeds.

2023 Electric Chevy Silverado Performance Specs

When the Chevy Silverado EV arrives, it will share an electric powertrain with the coming GMC Hummer EV. Available information about the electric Hummer has made some extraordinary claims, and it’s unclear how that will translate to the Silverado EV. However, the series of electric motors used to power the electric Silverado could provide as much as 1,000 horsepower.

Chevrolet also claims that the electrified pickup truck will be equipped with a large and powerful battery pack that will provide more than 640 kilometres of driving range. Finally, all-wheel-drive will be standard equipment.
