After 10 years, Chevrolet has finally given the Traverse a fresh new design with new interior improvements. The new design of the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse seems to be catching quite a bit of attention and rightfully so. We decided to take a further look at what has been updated with the all-new 2018 Chevrolet Traverse.
Design
The exterior design of the Traverse presents a new crisper exterior. The design seems to have more of a masculine style in the works in comparison to the previous style of “minivan- esque”. The intellibeam headlamps and taillamps are more sharp and crisp in design. It gives the Traverse a bolder more confident image that steps away from “mom van”.
Mechanical
Here’s the good stuff; what’s under the hood? Chevrolet equipped the 2018 Traverse with the fuel efficient 3.6 Litre V6 engine. With 9-speed automatic transmission, this SUV will get you where you need to go while being comfortable. When the Traverse is equipped with the available Trailering Package, the Tow/Haul mode keeps Traverse in a lower gear, offering more torque to pull the weight of a trailer when needed.
Interior
The Traverse may come with a new design but that didn’t impact space. This SUV is still full of it. With seating for 8 passengers, there is still plenty of room to spare. It goes without saying; trunk space should never be a worry. This SUV has always had the strong selling feature of hauling passengers and cargo and it still remains the same.
Chevrolet also ensured the Traverse would be up to date with all current technology. Equip with 7.0-inch colour touch infotainment display; Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto capability come standard. Additionally, the Traverse comes with OnStar and Built-in OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi® hotspot capability.
The Traverse comes equipped with “smart slide seating’ which entails the second-row seat on the passenger side can be adjusted, moved and angled forward to allow passengers easy access to the third-row seating.
Another great feature includes the rear camera mirror. GM has only made this amazing and neat feature available on limited vehicles, the Traverse now being one of them. This mirror increases the driver’s vision by 300%. Check out our video on the Rear Camera Streaming mirror in action!
Safety Features
Chevrolet ensured safety was a focus point. A highlight safety feature for young drivers includes the “teen driver technology”. This technology includes great features that promote safe driving habits among young drivers, all which are controlled by the parents. The safety features included with teen driver technology include: Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Forward Collision Alert and Forward Automatic Braking.
Overall
The newly redesigned Traverse presents many excellent new updates. The Traverse redefines space with a bolder new exterior. This SUV would be most useful for those with large families, those looking for adventure or those who have cargo to carry around. You should let the extra room bring everyone together.
