Seventeen Pics of the Chevy Silverado

17 Pictures of the all-new 2014 Silverado… Stronger, Smarter

THE INTERIOR

The Silverado’s interior is made for comfort. Wider openings and larger doors make getting in and out a breeze. Sit down on seats made from dual density foam, and stretch out with increased foot room and leg room in the second row.

Front- and rear-door storage, upper and lower glove boxes and an available two-compartment centre console that can accommodate file folders and a laptop computer.

The new Silverado interior groups important controls within easy reach of the driver. Large knobs are easy to adjust even while wearing work gloves. Beneath the climate controls, there’s a centre switch bank that lets you access Silverado features with the touch of a finger. Innovative available MyLink5 features keep you, and your crew, connected to the world. Integrated controls in the steering wheel let you navigate through the displays, activate the available heated steering wheel, change songs and activate the available voice controls without ever taking your hands off the wheel. An available Bose® premium audio system offers a superior listening experience.

THE EXTERIOR

Improved aerodynamics. New inlaid doors, an integrated spoiler in the tailgate and dual power-dome hood all combine to create a truck that doesn’t just cheat the wind; Silverado rules it.

A lot of thinking went inside the box

The new Silverado’s cargo bed includes smart features that let you customize the way you secure cargo. Four standard lower tie-downs and four optional upper tie-downs can be attached in multiple locations.

The proof is in the pulling

All of our improvements pay off when it comes to towing and handling. The 2014 Silverado 2WD equipped with our EcoTec35.3L V8 engine and available Max Trailering Package (available later this year) will have best-in-class towing ratings of up to 5216 kg (11,500 lb.),2 more than any light-duty pickup currently on the market. Whether you’re cruising the highway up to the cottage or hauling equipment to the jobsite, Silverado has the capability and know-how you need to get the job done with confidence.

THE ENGINE

EcoTec3 brims with horsepower and sips fuel

Our EcoTec3 5.3L V8 offers the proven power and dependability of our V8 truck engines, with better highway fuel efficiency than F-150’s smaller twin-turbocharged V6.1 All of our EcoTec3 engines include the 3 cutting edge technologies of Active Fuel Management, Direct Injection and continuously Variable Valve Timing. The result is class-leading V-8 fuel efficiency1 with the peace of mind that comes with our reliable small-block V8 engine design. No matter which EcoTec3 engine you choose, Silverado offers you a fuel-efficient and powerful option that will get the job done.

4.3L EcoTec3 V6

Purpose-built and designed for truck use, the high-torque 4.3L all-aluminum V6 provides ample power for hauling, towing and brisk acceleration with its 285 horsepower and impressive 305 lb.-ft. of torque. This is not a car engine that has been adapted to pickup truck duty! It is the first V6 in any full-size pickup truck to include, as standard equipment, Active Fuel Management,Direct Injection and continuously Variable Valve Timing. AFM allows the engine to automatically switch to four-cylinder mode under light engine-load demands to help save fuel.

5.3L EcoTec3 V8

Our most popular engine, Silverado’s all-aluminum 355-horsepower 5.3L V8, when combined with the available Max Trailering Package produces more towing than any competitor in its class.3 When pulling power is not the order of the day it has the ability to sip fuel with its standard Active Fuel Management system.

6.2L EcoTec3 V8

Silverado’s 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 is the most powerful V8 Chevrolet has ever offered in a full-size light-duty pickup. With 420 horsepower and 460 ft.-lb. of torque and an ultimate towing capacity of up to 5443 kg (12,000 lb.)4 surpassing the already best-in-class 5.3L V8.

No wonder the 2014 Chevy Silverado is the North American Truck of the Year
