2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe

If you have been keeping up with the coverage from the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, you were likely following the discussion around the Corvette Stingray (and if you are a driver, you will most likely always be following this car, sporting the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine).

But you missed something.

You missed something big.

And that was the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe.

2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe

“Engineered purely for the thrill of the driving experience.”

The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is the manufacturer’s entry into the compact two-door coupe market and is one of the first cars to wear the brand’s all new crest (though it was previewed with the Elmiraj).

Andrew Smith, Cadillac Executive Design Director, noted that the “new Crest matches the lower, longer, leaner mantra of our current car designs, and reflects the evolution of our Art and Science philosophy.”

Just like the previous Cadillac ATS, it is designed to go head to head with Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Lexus, and the BMW 4 series.

2015 ATS Coupe: Speed & Technology

Available engine options are a 2.0 liter turbo four cylinder (which is able to hit 60 in 5.6 seconds) or the more aggressive 3.6-liter V6.  To balance all this power (and bring you to a smooth and safe stop when necessary), Cadillac has equipped the ATS Coupe with race-inspired Brembo performance breaks.

What does all of this mean?  That the newest Cadillac ATS has an advantage in power and weight over similarly outfitted coupes like BMW’s 428i.

The car isn’t all brawn however; it’s got brains as well.

And the neurons are snappy.  For example, The Magnetic Ride Control suspension analyzes surface conditions 1,000 times per second.  Add to that the coupe’s 4G LTE wireless hotspot functionality, USB & SD memory card ports, and an infotainment system featuring text-to-voice capabilities and you’ve got a real smart car.

You Are Going to Want to Hear This: The ATS Coupe’s Sounds

The 2015 ATS Coupe comes equipped with a Bose 9 speaker system allowing you to indulge not only in your favorite music, but also enhances actual powertrain sounds to fully immerse you in the driving experience.

Want some peace and quiet? The Bose Active Noise Cancellation lets you tune out the world so you can just drive.
